A Trusted Doctor & Guide
I am double board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. I have top-notch medical training, graduating from Stanford for Adult Psychiatry Residency and Child Psychiatry Fellowship. As a younger provider, I connect well with children, teens, and young adults and have the most up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the latest psychiatric treatments. I have extensive training and expertise working with children and teens dealing with depression, anxiety, and ADHD. As a physician, I provide medication management as well as individual therapy, depending on your needs. With my private practice, I am able to spend time getting to know you better and guiding you on a path toward your treatment goals. I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey toward better health.
A Patient-Centered Approach
One of the most important elements in your care is your active involvement and involvement. Throughout my years of training, I have learned that a patient-centered approach is the key to providing the highest quality care possible. As such, I believe that together we form the best team to achieve your treatment goals. With this approach, I listen carefully to my patients to design a treatment plan that is unique for their needs. This may include individual therapy, medication management, or a combination of the two. If you have questions or concerns at any point during our sessions, I invite you to share them with me so that we can work together to find a solution. I also welcome you to reach out to me in between sessions if questions arise about your diagnosis and/or treatment plan. If needed, we can plan for earlier follow up to address any urgent issues.
About Me
I am a licensed physician in California and double-board certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I completed both my General Psychiatry Residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Stanford School of Medicine, where I completed additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and served as Chief Fellow in my final year of training.
I spent my childhood growing up near Houston, Texas, but have lived in the Bay Area for most of the last 16 years. I attended college at Stanford, where I first fell in love with California’s beautiful weather, palm trees, and relaxed vibe. After college, I returned to San Antonio, Texas to attend medical school. I had always dreamed of becoming a pediatrician, but realized as a medical student that my true passion lay in helping improve patients’ lives through understanding their life stories and addressing their health issues in a holistic and humanistic way. I currently reside with my husband and two young daughters in the South Bay near San Jose. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family on the weekend, trying out local coffee shops and restaurants, gardening and relaxing outdoors, and traveling abroad to enjoy and experience different cultures and cuisines.
After spending much of my training and early career in academia, I chose to pursue private practice in order to have the ability to focus on the well-being of my patients through providing the highest quality care possible. Outside of my clinical responsibilities, I continue to enjoy teaching and mentoring students within my field.
